Advanced Ripple Tank System, WA-9770

The Advanced Ripple Tank System includes a Mechanical Strobe Accessory (WA-9772), which makes the study of Ripple Tank waves easy. The strobe creates the illusion of slow-moving or stationary wave patterns that simplify wavelength measurements and clarify wave theory. If the strobe and the ripple generator operate at the same frequency (up to 18 Hz), the wave patterns will appear stationary. Place a ruler on the pattern to take measurements. Point out peaks, valleys, nodes and antinodes. The strobe’s digital readout quickly reports the frequency of the strobe’s rotating disk.
